Hundreds of thousands of refugees are fleeing to Germany. The sheer numbers of people and the dramatic stories of their journeys are astonishing. What's more, many of the refugees are documenting their travels themselves -- on video. No professional film-makers or TV news crews. For most refugees, a mobile phone is indispensable for organizing their travels -- and for taking pictures. In these videos, the refugees describe their homelands, their departures, the various stopping-points along the way to Europe, their arrival in Germany -- and their first impressions of their new surroundings. For our documentary, the refugees discuss these videos in extensive interviews. It's an impressive, touching, and highly personal account of people who were forced to leave their homes, and travelled to Europe to find security and safety.
