Biography
Tricia Lee is a director who creates visually, emotionally and intellectually stimulating content for the screen. She has Canadian and British citizenship and delivers quality on time and on budget. Director of award-winning films SILENT RETREAT (Best Canadian Feature – Toronto After Dark, Nocturna Madrid Fantastic Film Festival) and CLEAN BREAK (Best Drama Feature – Atlanta Horror Film Festival), Tricia is in post for her third feature ONE DROP which was featured at the Frontieres Genre Co-Production market in Brussels, Belgium. Making a big splash in the genre community, she has fans all around the world awaiting her next film. “Toronto based director Tricia Lee is turning out some of the best horror to emerge out of the Great White North” (Bloody Disgusting) and that’s “to say nothing of being a woman playing in what is very much a male dominated sandbox” (TwitchFilm). Tricia is the founder and CEO of the feature film production company A Film Monkey Production Inc. in Toronto. Other past projects include Searching For Wonder (Reel Asian Charles Street Video Pitch Award Winner, Bravo!FACT grant and NFB FAP award); Paper Tulips (CFTPA Corus Young Filmmaker Initiative); and the Bravo!FACT Marv Freetell’s Wedding Day (Special Jury Award at Houston Worldfest). She won The N Youth Drama Pitch at the Banff Television Festival and the Kodak Audience Choice Award for the TV series pitch Waiting in the Wings. She placed second at the SUNTV Convergence Pitch at the WIFT Summit for her Street Racing PSA that offered mentorship to youth. Tricia was selected to participate in the NBC Universal Development Incubator for the feature script Lost Souls. She has also worked as a field producer / director for Kids CBC and Fraud Squad on Discovery Channel and produced the Ontario Arts Council short The Old Ways, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Tricia loves traveling, hot yoga, scuba diving and riding her motorcycle. She is an entrepreneur and real estate investor.
