Biography
Lawanda L. Young was born in St. Louis, MO to Keith L. Young and Henrietta E. Young. She was first introduced to acting from her fifth grade English teacher, Ms. Walker, at Dunbar Elementary School in East St. Louis, IL. That was the beginning of her journey. Lawanda was performing in a lot of theater within the community, school and the church. She then attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where she obtained a BA in Theater Performance. During the summer of 2001, she was accepted into the Hollywood Studies Internship Program which gave her the opportunity to intern at CBS Studios for "The Young and the Restless" and Paramount Studios in the casting office of "Star Trek Enterprise". After college, she relocated to Los Angeles, CA in pursuit in turning her dreams into a reality. Her credits includes a few commercials, and a couple of TV credits. Not to mention, she has performed at some of the top comedy clubs as a comedienne at Pasadena Ice House, Laugh Factory, Comedy Store, HaHa Cafe, Flappers and even at Aces Comedy Club in Murrieta, CA.
