Swedish actress Greta Garbo (born Greta Lovisa Gustafsson) was a major Hollywood screen star of the mid 1920s through early 1940s. She made her final film in 1941. In 1999 the American Film Institute ranked her fifth on their list of greatest female stars of classic cinema.
