Movie Reviews
This film is aptly named. It was MAD. And amazing. And brilliant. And just mental to look at. And to think I almost didn’t see it!
Marvel Fatigue? What Marvel Fatigue? Honey, I was born ready for this film.
I should start this by saying, I freaking love the Fast and Furious series. I have not the faintest of ideas why; I am not the target audience, for sure, I don’t give a shit about cars, and explosions bore me at the best of times. I loathe Michael Bay and all of his Transformers-esque bullshit.
Locke! The famous Locke! Which came out in 2014 to nary a commercial whisper and practically passed me by altogether (a feat unheard of for a) Tom Hardy films since Stuart: A Life Backwards (2007) in general and b) what I suppose you would call one-man films, where it is one actor – or actress, Hollywood, if you’re listening – onscreen for at least 95% of the film), until I eventually tracked it down.
Okay, so there are some films that are seminal. They can change your life, or they can just stick with you for a long long time. The Sound of Music. Beverly Hills Cop. Dead Poets Society (I liked it, okay?). It’s a Wonderful Life. This film…this film is not one of those. It’s not even quite the heights of romantic comedy that is When Harry Met Sally (aka my go-to feelgood movie. It seriously works for everything – bad day at work? When Harry Met Sally. Fight with a friend? When Harry Met Sally. Got rejected from that job you wanted? When Harry Met Sally). But Two Night Stand is an oddly charming film that I find I am thinking about the next day.
I saw this film YEARS ago (and tracked down a DVD copy in rural Devon - no mean feat in 2005 so screw you to whoever pinched that from me. I suspect I annoyed someone into watching it so they took it as revenge. I was a bit Jehovah's Witness-y about the whole thing. I really felt like it was important that lots of people saw this film) and all I remember is being totally blown away by it. Ten years later and shit, nothing has changed. It's a really freaking good film.
This is a new launch of the MyMovieFinder website. Might not look like the site has changed much but it is more of a backend upgrade and a lot more integrated with the services that are available. You can easily see if a movie is currently being stream on one of the many service that are out there.
The Raid is like, woah. I mean just crazy! I can barely either fathom what I just saw.
The Raid starts off with a rookie cop (who shall henceforth be known Rookie, as I am only partly

This film is hella tense. I mean, seriously. The subject matter is tense anyway - young soldier mistakenly gets left behind on the streets of Belfast in 1971 in the midst of the Troubles - but wow,...
